Week 14 - ending 4/8: General Malaise

This week started off, like many others, so full of possibilities and hope. By Tuesday mid-day the excitement wore off and the malaise set in. For the remainder of the week I was completely unmotivated to do anything but lay in bed. I went through my routines, I woke up, worked out, showered, ate and worked, but every spare moment I had, I laid in bed.

A 10am conference call, took it laying on my bed.

The 30 minutes I had between meetings, spent it on my bed.

I didn't sleep, I wasn't tired. I just didn't want to be anywhere else. I only wanted the comfort of my bed. I didn't want my sofa, or TV or favorite chair. Just my bed. Surrounded by my pillows, laying on my comforter, in the dark of my room.

Saturday rolled around and, sure enough, I had done very few chores throughout the week. Laundry was piled up, the fridge was empty and the floors were dirty. However, by Saturday I woke up motivated. Friday night went well, I sleep well and woke up like a different person. Suddenly the malaise of the week was gone. Suddenly I had the motivation to be and do.

I would like to take a note from astrology and blame the Full Moon. I would also like to blame the sign of Libra since I believe this is what sign the Moon was in. Mercury pre-shadow as well is on the blame list. While we are all affected by moons and energy I cannot blame it all. I am still the one who needs to be and do for myself. Perhaps the week of laying on my bed would have better served me had I been meditating. However, its amazing how doing so little, physically, made my mind do so much more, to the point that quieting for meditation was an exercise in futility.
